The Light and Round Project collects reviews and recommendations of novels for teens that are an alternative to “dark and edgy” (thus “light and round”). This is an ever-evolving list of suggestions from book experts and enthusiasts. My hope is that this project will promote awareness of YA lit, expand the perception of what type of books YA has to offer, and help connect readers with the sort of books they are seeking. You can find out more about the origin of this project here.

Once a month a roundup of books is posted with links to blogger reviews or book pages. If you would like your review to be included in the roundup, please email me the link with "Light and Round Project" in the subject heading at fromthemixedupfiles(at)gmail(dot)com.

This list does not constitute my personal recommendations and I have not read all of these books. Please keep in mind that book taste is subjective. What is "light and round" to one person might be "dark and edgy" to the next. Please read the reviews provided for the books (linked) or the book description to form your opinion of if this book suits your reading preferences.

Below is my attempt to maintain an archive of every title included in the roundups with links to reviews if provided. If you have reviewed one of these titles and would like your link included, please email me.

If you'd like a printable version of this list (titles/authors only) to mark up and take with you to libraries and bookstores, email me and I will send you one.
